About Muriel
Singer, entertainer and broadcaster Muriel O Connor is recognised by her peers and audiences alike as one of the great Irish entertainers. In recent times she has been an award recipient at The Sunday World Music Awards, picked up the Female Entertainer of The Year Award from The Farmer’s Journal as well as multiple awards from several local radio stations. The Muriel O Connor stage show is legendary with Muriel always giving one hundred per cent to every performance.
She has recorded four albums and has enjoyed airplay hits with songs such as Hillbilly Rock, Whatever You Say Say Nothing and Waltzing an Angel. However it was the duet ‘Something Blue’ that took the radio world by storm with the song being one of the most played Irish Songs throughout 2015.
The new album is called ‘Muriel’s World’ and contains all the hits including Something Blue as well as Irish favourites such as The Leaving of Liverpool and The Best Part of the Day.
On stage Muriel is as comfortable with the music of Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton as she is with Tina Turner and Karen Carpenter and Irish classics.

The Muriel O Connor Show has been resident in The Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney for over twenty years entertaining people from all over Ireland and, indeed, all over the world. She has worked with many of the top names in Irish entertainment such as Jimmy Buckley, Mick Flavin, Paddy O Brien and Trudy Lawlor as well as touring extensively with Ireland’s greatest comedian, Brendan Grace.
Muriel continues to tour Ireland as one of the biggest attractions on the Irish dance circuit as well as frequent tours across the UK. She makes frequent appearances on television and radio. In recent times Muriel is proving herself as a very talented radio personality.
Muriel performs live with session keyboard player and record producer Fran Curry who spent many years with legendary folk group The Bards and has played all over the world including exotic places such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iraq and Iceland. Fran is a classical guitarist and pianist as well as playing several other instruments including the piano accordion. He has produced recordings for Louise Morrissey, Trudi Lalor, John Hogan, Dave Lawlor and many more. Fran has also appeared on recordings with Mick Hanly, Philip Donnelly, Chris Rea, Donal Lunny and many more of our top artists. He is also a founder member of the legendary session musician band ‘The Out of the Blue Brothers’ that includes Eoin O Neil (Moving Hearts, Riverdance, and Celtic Woman) and Ray Fean (Horslips, Celtic Woman, and Sharon Shannon)
Fran is also one of the most respected broadcasters in the Country and continues to broadcast the Tipp FM flagship daily current affairs show ‘Tipp Today’
